About Maria Langgle
Born in communist Eastern Europe, Maria Langgle moved multiple times accross two continents and three countries and before finally settling in beautiful Orange County, California. Not by choice but pushed by circumstances both personal and political, her life was fragmented, stressed and filled with financial and emotional difficulties. Throughout it all, art was ever present in her world and from an early age she drew, painted and created and never stopped. Art and creativity was Maria’s way to stay true to herself and stay sane through the difficult times.
Having grown up in political and personal upheaval and financial uncertainty, Maria studied Economics at UCI, reasoning that this career choice would be the most stable and secure. Still, all her elected classes were Art and Art History and she never stopped producing artwork. Although Maria has taken a number of art workshops and classes, she is not formally trained and mostly self taught. Acrylics is her medium of choice and she loves experimenting with bold color and brush strokes. Inspired by the early Impressionist Painters (Van Gogh, Monet, Degas and many, many more) as well as Norman Rockwell, her work captures the feeling of the moment while telling a story and engaging the viewer to look for the bright side of life.
Fast forward 15 years and a very successful career in sales and business coaching, Maria decided it’s finally time to focus on her Art. A major influence or her artworks has been nature and wild life. She frequently travels with her husband and their two dogs, visiting the natural wonders of the United States. She feels a special connection with the wild places on the planet and wild life. In her artwork, Maria’s goal is to strengthen the connection with nature and flow of energy and uplift the viewers mood and outlook.
